ComponentOne Releases LINQ ExtensionsExtensions designed to speed up LINQ queries
ComponentOne has released LiveLinq, a set of extensions to the Microsoft's LINQ data access technology. LINQ, short for "Language Integrated Query," is a set of .NET Framework 3.5 features for writing structured type-safe queries over local object collections and remote data sources.
According to ComponentOne's Chris Meredith LiveLinq adds two important capabilities to standard LINQ queries. "LiveLinq uses indexing and other optimizations to speed up LINQ queries with typical gains being up to 100 times faster. It also supports live views, which keeps query results up to date with respect to the base data," said Meredith.
Microsoft's Matt Carter added that "LINQ was created to bridge the gap between the world of objects and the world of data. Products like LiveLinq will benefit Visual Studio 2008 customers by providing new data-binding scenarios that will enhance the user experience."
