If you have ever installed a newer version of Firefox over an installation of an earlier version of the program, we recommend that you follow these easy steps:1. Download the latest version of the Firefox installer from http://www.getfirefox.com/ (even if you already have the latest version installed). Choose the Save to Disk option or download it to your Firefox Downloads folder. Do not Open the file or choose the online installation method, if offered. 2. Uninstall Firefox using Add or Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel. If you see multiple versions of Firefox in Add or Remove Programs, uninstall all of them, starting with older versions first. 3. Don't worry! All of your existing settings, bookmarks, extensions, themes, and customizations will be fully preserved. Really. 4. Install this version and return to Dr. Dobb's TV site. Note: Mozilla has in the past recommended these steps to solve a variety of problems, especially with versions of Firefox prior to 1.0.4.
