Development Best Practices India in 2007
Dr. Dobb’s to Host One-Day Conferences in Hyderabad, Chennai and
Bangalore
San Francisco – September 5, 2006 – CMP Technology’s Dr.
Dobb’s today announced the launch of Software Development Best Practices
Conference & Expo India in three cities next year: Hyderabad on January
16, Chennai on January 17 and Bangalore on January 18.
Software Development Best Practices India will address the unique regional
needs of software development professionals working in India, featuring content
and contributions from the industry’s most recognized and respected luminaries
and vendors. The program line-up and discussions at Software Development Best
Practices India will focus on software architecture, design methodologies and
project management issues.
Dr. Dobb’s is pleased to introduce the following line-up of software
development experts:
Dr. Scott Meyers is an author and consultant with over three decades of experience
in software development practice and research. His primary interest is practical
principles for improving software quality. His best-selling Effective C++ books
(Effective C++, More Effective C++, and Effective STL) defined a new genre
in technical publishing. Dr. Meyers is also a current or former member of the
technical advisory boards for several companies and publications.
Dr. Herbert Thompson is a world renowned expert in application security with
over 40 published papers and three books in the area of software security.
At Security Innovation, he leads testing teams for some of the world’s
largest software companies and is principal investigator on several grants
from the U.S. Department of Defense. Dr. Thompson also chairs the Application
Security Industry Consortium to help establish and define cross-industry application
security guidance and metrics.
Ken Pugh consults, trains, and mentors on effective project management topics
ranging from object-oriented development to Linux/Unix to system development
processes. He has written numerous programming books, including Interface-Oriented
Design and the 2006 Jolt Award winner Prefactoring.
Andrew Stellman is the co-author of Applied Software Project Management, providing
developers with tools, techniques, and practices to diagnose their team's situation
and present practical advice to help build better software. Andrew founded
the Software Engineering Process Group and has helped teams of programmers
to managed improvements in their processes.
