General Info | Previous Winners Jolt Awards - 1997 WinnersIn each of the six categories, we present one Jolt Award and three Productivity Awards. The categories are Books, Design and Management Tools, Libraries and Components, Languages and Development Environments, Utilities, and Special. The Jolt winner was selected as the product that most jolted the industry during the 1997 calendar year. The Productivity Award winners also deserve recognition for having a significant impact in software development. This year for the first time, we've established the Software Development Hall of Fame Award for software tools that have maintained the highest quality over the years, receiving Jolt or Productivity awards multiple times since their initial release. For more information on the processes of nominating and selecting the Jolt Awards, visit our Jolt Awards general information page.
