Liskov to Keynote OOPSLA 2009

International Conference on Object-Oriented Programming Systems, Languages, and Applications set for October in Orlando, Florida

OOPSLA 2009, the International Conference on Object-Oriented Programming Systems, Languages, and Applications sponsored by ACM SIGPLAN, will take place October 25 to 29 in Orlando, Florida. Cloud computing, social networking sites, and agile software development will be among the topics presented in workshops, panels, tutorials, papers, posters, and more.

The OOPSLA 2009 Keynote will be given by 2008 ACM Turing Award winner Barbara Liskov, Institute Professor and head of the Programming Methodology Group at MIT. Liskov's research interests lie in programming methodology, programming languages and systems, and distributed computing. Other scheduled speakers include Jeannette Wing (NSF), Gerard Holzmann (NASA/JPL Laboratory for Reliable Software), Tom Malone (MIT), and Brion Vibber (Wikimedia).
