Sparx Systems Updates Enterprise Architect

Modeling tools targets business, software and systems

Sparx Systems has announced the availability of three new "editions" and a major update of Enterprise Architect 7.5, its UML-based modeling and design tool. The three new editions of Enterprise Architect target the business community, software developers and systems/hardware designers. In addition to adding domain-targeted executable code generation from UML Behavioral and Rule-based models, BPEL generation from BPMN 1.1 models, support for VHDL and Verilog, and SysML Parametric simulation, the toolsuite includes plug-ins from Sparx Systems range of MDG Technologies, such as SysML, DDS, DoDAF, TOGAF and MODAF -- and feature tight integration with the latest versions of Eclipse and Microsoft Visual Studio.

The current editions of Enterprise Architect -- Desktop, Professional and Corporate -- have been reworked and include major performance increases for widely dispersed teams, enhanced drawing capabilities, new scripting capabilities, improved document generation, better integrated test and maintenance systems and many other updates which refine and streamline the user experience.

"It is a real pleasure to see this version and the new editions of Enterprise Architect released." said Geoffrey Sparks, of Sparx Systems. "The practical and successful application of UML and other technologies to a wide range of business, software and systems engineering domains continues to prove the value of Model Driven Development and the Enterprise Architect toolset."
