Monad hits RC1, redubbed Windows PowerShell
Microsoft has announced the Release Candidate 1 of Windows Powershell, the command-line shell and scripting language formerly code-named Monad. Windows PowerShell is available now for download on MSDN. Command-line stalwarts will welcome having a robust, non-GUI environment in which to work (e.g., tab completion for commands, parameters, filenames, and variable properties/methods), but they are likely to bristle at having to swap out typing "msh.exe" for "powershell.exe". It misses the point of the whole UNIX terse zeitgeist. On the bright side, it's not "windowspowershell2007(r).exe."
