Strange Bedfellows

Getting your app ready for release on a radically new version of Windows is not the easiest task, but it just got a bit easier for the folks at Mozilla. Mozilla developers are among the first open-source developers to be invited to Redmond to get direct help from Vista engineers in shaking the bugs out of a product, in this case, the Vista-compatible Firefox 2 and Thunderbird 2. So why would Microsoft help hone an IE competitor? Maybe they've realized that it if Firefox users see a performance degredation in their browser after they switch to Vista, users will blame Vista, not Firefox. Oh, and there's the added benefit of not looking like the monopolistic bully that everyone accuses Microsoft of being.
