When your development effort becomes a global collaborative one, you need not only the proper methodologies, but the proper tools: tools that support the unique requirements of the task. Coping with Chaos

Ironclad Code


In "Bulletproofing C++ Code," Sergei Sokolov gives you a formula for keeping the errors out of your code. It consists of a closed loop that starts and ends with static analysis, but also requires establishing a reliable regression base, and devloping unit and regression tests.

Optimal ISRs


It's very easy these days to write an Interrupt Service Routine. So easy, in fact, that it's easy to forget that they come at a price. Too many can cause performance bottlenecks—so it's important to optimize. The key is register stacking and unstacking. Check out "Minimizing ISR Overhead" by Nigel Jones for the scoop.
