Implemented in Java, the framework supports all aspects of model-driven software development. As part of Eclipse, it supports parsing, validation, and transformation of all kinds of models. Based on these models, it can generate code for every programming language.

Health Care, Frameworks, and SOA It was just the other day that I opportunity to talk to IBM researcher Dan Ford about Big Blue's announcement that it has made available a software technology that can help predict the transmission of diseases across countries and around the globe to the open source community. The tool, known as Spatio-Temporal Epidemiological Modeler, or STEM for short, will help scientists and public health officials understand and plan more efficient responses to health crises. STEM is available for use through the Eclipse Open Healthcare Framework Project (OHF), hosted at the Eclipse Foundation.

Website Quality Survey: Your Help Is Needed Dave Rico is asking for your help, and I'm hoping you can lend him a hand (or a few mouse clicks, at minimum). As part of his doctoral dissertation, Dave has put together a survey entitled Effects of Agile Methods on Website Quality to gauge, well, the effects of agile methods on website quality. And Dave and I would greatly appreciate it you would spare a few minutes participating.

Delegate: It's Hard, but Necessary For a lot of people, delegation is a tough nut to crack. But crack it, you must -- no matter what kind of business you're in. What's important to keep in mind is that someone you've delegated authority to may not do it exactly the way you do, but if it works, it is on schedule, on budget, and all that good stuff, that's what counts.

Patterns for Parallelism There's no question that concurrency -- also known as parallelism -- is, or at least should be, in the forefront of all developer's and architect's field of vision. This is due in large part to the advent of multi-core processors.

In his paper Applying an Analytical Framework, Benjamin Lieberman applies such frameworks to the and software reuse techniques and tools.
