Agile Self-Evaluation Tool Released

Helps you answer the question 'how are we doing, agile-wise'

ThoughtWorks Studios has launched Agile Assessment, a web-based tool for gauging the status of a software development team's Agile adoption and potential roadblocks to the successful delivery of business-aligned programs.

The self-assessment tool consists of a 20-question diagnostic that covers both management and engineering practices, and provides a customized report with high-level analysis and potential areas for improvement, based on the self assessment. Management practices include: requirements analysis, business responsiveness, collaboration and communication, project management and governance. Engineering practices include build management, configuration management and testing.

Based on users' input, Agile Assessments provides organizations with a report that includes a short summary of Agile process maturity and identifies areas for improvement. The report also provides a framework that organizations will find useful as they scale their Agile practices throughout their organization. In addition, Agile Assessments organizes much of the unstructured Agile content (blogs, books, analyst insights) into a useful structure that serves as a resource for any Agile adoption process.

"Organizations looking for initial feedback and analysis of their Agile initiatives, perhaps as a first step toward an in-depth assessment and improvement plan, will find the 10-minute investment well worth the time, said Adam Monago, vice president of client services for ThoughtWorks Studios. "The self-assessment questions and analysis are based on the hands-on practical experience that ThoughtWorks and ThoughtWorks Studios have gained during the past 16 years and addresses the full range of Agile development practices."
